Before you trade in your Gen II Cayman
Discussion
I'd like a Gen II Cayman 2.9 or 3.4S ideally a PDK, and preferably with sports seats, parking sensors, climate control, cruise control, I'm expecting it to be a 2009 or 2010 model with average mileage. I'm quite happy, in fact I would prefer, to buy from a private seller if the car has a good history.
I'm following various websites where suitable cars are advertised (PH, Autotrader, Exchange & Mart), but am finding in many cases that private sellers are asking the same if not more than independent dealers, what I really want is to by a car from someone who is trading theirs in so that I can improve on their trade in offer but cut out the dealer mark up. If anyone reading this has something suitable please message me. Thanks.

I always put my cars on at the same or more than 3rd party dealers.
I tend to find the best cars change hands private, the cars harder to sell goto dealers.
this has changed a bit as we see more SOR cars at dealers now.
But if you know you have a nice car with a good spec why sell it cheaper ?

I know the OP means well but it’s quite a cheeky request; I want to buy your shining example of a Cayman for marginally more than trade in.
When I sell mine it will be priced up there with the best because it’s got many desirable optional extras and it’s in fantastic condition, I won’t have any problem shifting it.
As PorscheGT4 says all the best cars change hands privately.

I didn't mean to be cheeky, sorry if it seemed that way. I'm just hoping to be able to find the middle ground between trade-in and retail price, which would mean I might have to buy new tyres, have chips repaired, etc, myself at some point. I wouldn't necessarily expect it to be as well presented as a dealer offering.
Again I find well kept cars to be better than dealer preped cars.
Dealers will spend as little as possible to max margin.
Goto a piston heads Sunday service or a Porsche event and most cars look concours.
It's the pcp hand backs which are not looked after ESP if you go and look at London area cars.
Most are battered to a point I avoid south based dealers and private sales, have had big issues looking at dealers and private cars which are so called mint, only to have to walk away, dealers inc.

I might be interested if the deal is right. Not planning on using mine much over the next 6 months and GT4 arrives before the end of the year. December 2010 car, just passed 17 thousand miles, bought 3 years ago with 9,700 on the clock. Check my garage for details of the car, imho opinion it is the best specified Gen II Cayman S in the country. List was over £70k with the massive amount of options ticked.
