The 3 pin plug on an electric hook up that you plug into the mains supply - is it the same connection in France or do I require an adaptor?

Plenty of French sites use the standard plug, but loads don't.

Take the adaptor just incase. Also worth a polarity checker too, sometimes they can be out.

One thing to be aware of, a lot of the sites have a lower amperage limit on the power, so you can't run too much.

Yup - I have just come back from a month there touring and was never able to use the standard blue plug so always needed the adapter.

John: if you are checking polarity you may want to rig up a reverse polarity plug/socket as well in case the polarity is reversed.

You may be able to buy them reversed but if not its a simple rewire (Google it to be sure). I did it: its easy....just make sure that you clearly mark on the reversed one that it is reversed so that when you take it out you don't use the wrong one eek

There's no real point in checking polarity unless you can change/adapt to it is there? smile

Loads of peeps will tell you that they have never had an issue but its 'belt and braces' for me just in case as it does and can happen...

Cheers smile

Some German sites use the standard hook-up plug, on others I needed the 2-pin adaptor. This was last summer. Great country for camping
