I was given this "Rolex" by a friend a while ago, I've been meaning to ask for a while what you guys think of it, it works, you give it a shake and it starts ticking, a very smooth movement of the second hand with no noise at all. He didn't seem to think it was real but admitted he had never bothered to find out. Any idea from these photos? What model is it (supposed to be)? Many thanks in advance. Ian

Fake - looks like a plastic face.

Also Datejust looks wrong.

Just had a closer look, 90% certain it's glass! the date just bit does look a bit wrong though.

Edit: then again looks the same letter spacing and font as this

Sorry Ian, 100% fake. There were lots of issues on detail with the other images. But the above detail is proof beyond all doubt...

The markings on the case back are indicating it is 18ct White gold, but I've never seen markings like that on the back, only on either the inside of the case back ( and much, much smaller ) or on the folding clasp.

Hi Ian,

Your first images showed a copy of a 36mm Datejust 16200, this is a much later 116300 Datejust. A larger watch at 41mm with very different proportions...

Thanks everyone, I knew I couldn't be that lucky, I have to say, even though it's fake, it does seem very good quality for a fake. Is it a ladies watch?

Edit: ahhhh the embarrassment of dirty nails in public!!!

Agree with Dom H - there are lots of other details in the other photos that indicate a fake but as soon as I saw this photo it confirmed it as fake.
