I have access to an outside tap but no hose pipe and the car needs a bit of a clean. What's the best method to get it looking shiny again without using a hose please? Any recommendations for places to buy car washing items is also welcomed.

A friend of mine used to use a watering can to wet the car and rinse the suds. His car was always in showroom condition so it must have worked.

I recently got one of these:

Ok it's not as powerful as a jetwash at a petrol station but it will get a lot of the crap off. Then I use the 2 bucket method.

Wash the car in the rain, then you only need 2 buckets and the weather does the rinsing smile

In a similar situation, I bought one of those pump up spray can things. Waste of money. Watering can all the way...

Could you not just buy a hose reel and run it from the tap you have access to? Think you could probably buy the hose and attachments fairly cheaply from any DIY store/garden centre.
Ignore if there's another reason for not being able to use a hose.

Watering can is fine. I used one for years before I had a tap fitted just inside the garage door.

I've never used it myself but there's a product called Optimum No Rinse for this sort of situation, pretty sure you use it in lieu of shampoo. Maybe worth a Google.

Why not just buy a hose?

I have a hose but normally use a watering can as I find it easier, strange I know but it works for me & probably uses less water which is a bonus.

The tap is in an obscure place nowhere near my garage and with 16 garages in the vicinity, there's no room to move my car closer so if I can do it without a hose, I'd rather do without.

Watering can and 2 bucket method followed by some wax?
