Service Pricing
Discussion
What deals are people being offered on major service on their 911's?
I called the dealer today and was quoted £1,175 for the service, brake fluid, spark plugs and airbag check.
Then I indicated I had a PCGB card which offered a major service for £425. After a cough there was a "No", nothing else, just the "no" so I offered to send a picture of the card to them for consideration. He then conceded the major service was actually £610 for my model (997.2) and the brakes plugs etc were the additional amount and they're now due to come back to me with some kind of response.
I am laughing at the strapline on the OPC site "The service you’d expect from Porsche, at a price you wouldn’t."
Any positive assistance would be greatly welcomed.

I usually skip the airbag check and didn't have the plug change on my last. Did the brake fluid, PDK clutch oil, air filters and the aux belt. Came to just under £2300 inc 4 new Michelins and geometry.
Try another OPC if you are not happy with the quotes. Some people save money that way.

It's £1080. I tried three separate OPC's for my GTS and all quoted the same, which is what's on their service prices available on line. That's the major, spark plugs, brake fluid change, aux belt check and the pollen filter. Basic major is £610, unfortunately they list the other items separately.

Slightly off topic, but didn't the law get clarified a few years ago whereby it doesn't matter where you get your new car serviced so long as it uses parts of the same or better quality i.e. car manufacturers can't invalidate your warranty for the initial period (2 years for Porsche) just because you had it serviced at an indy so long as you have evidence it was done correctly

I seem to recall that any further warranty (e.g. the Porsche extended one) is an insurance product with a different contract so they can stipulate that it does have to be serviced at a main dealer

Some people have received confirmation from OPC that extended warranty is fine if they get it serviced elsewhere. Make of that what you will.
Euro block exemption covers the new car warranty situation.
I bought my 997.2 c4s 2009 from an Indy with 1 years warranty still on it and they serviced it before I picked it up. Opc happy to extend warranty after doing ther 111 check.Euro block exemption covers the new car warranty situation.
