After years of 'will I, won't I', I finally took the plunge and have a 4.2 sat on my driveway.
Early start this morning to fly down from Glasgow to East Midlands.
The weather was great up to the start of the A66, after which it was pretty wet and windy.
The car performed really well and didn't miss a beat. Slightly paranoid now having gauges to stare at, but all seemed pretty good. Oil was rock steady and water fluctuated as expected.
A few little areas to improve, but overall a nice car.
Probably re-waterproofing my jacket and buying AA Relay cover improved my chances of not being stood on the hardshoulder in the pouring rain....

A couple of photos - Not the most glamorous, but it was designed to be used.

Cheers Sandy - I'm over in Giffnock.
It was an easy buying choice, not fuelled by beer or whisky. Had to have good history, Raceline wheels, Nitrons and standard headlamps. Didn;t quite hit it on the lamps, but the rest meets my spec. I'll maybe update the rear lamps to the later ones, as I think that will go better with the SPeed 12 front end.
Need to give it some TLC this weekend and figure out how to keep it on the Accumate while living outside.
My 205 Gti restoration is comandeering my garage, so need to figure a reasonable way to get the accumate cable into the car.
It'll be a high day and holiday machine, so today's trip to work in the rain wasn't really planned. The little guy did enjoy being dropped to nursery in his 'race car'.
Happy days (so far)

Cheers Sandy - yes hopefully get a run out at some point
I'm currently trying to retrieve the 'situation' as we have 4 month old baby, hence my timing apparently wasn't the greatest. On the plus side she likes the colour so that's good....
My colleagues and boss are astounded that I managed to pull this purchase off. Secretly I think they are jealous. I'm simply stunned.
