what's this button?

This button is on the vinyl behind and to the left of the steering column. It click in and out but does not appear to do anything. Could it be heated seats?

Usually turns off the dash lights. wait till its dark, turn the lights on and then see if the button does anything.

Ahh I see. It mentions nothing in the handbook that came with the car, very strange!

That doesn't look like the dash lights button. Is it on the actual steering wheel? Have you got a pic looking from the passenger side?
