Yes. A permanent ban is permanent. You actually had a temporary ban for a previous indiscretion in the same forum, but offended again resulting in the permanent ban.BGARK said:

The ban was nearly a month ago. Is it only now it is troubling you?

I think you should both feel lucky that PH have 'new' rules; in Ted's day breaking the rules hit you banned from the site. End of story rather than just a ban from a certain area.From many conversations on this topic - Discretion is used, as is the 'error' posting history of the user when making the decision as to whether a thread ban is put in place, or one for the full forum or one for the site. Of course, that also depends on how badly that poster broke the rules in that instant too.
CockWomble was given a year or so of earnings before he was banned for good.
Another was banned instantly for linking to porn
The rules are simple and easy to follow. I'd bet that you do know why you've been banned, deep down.
Btw - you haven't had grief, you've had answers you didn't like. Which seeing as this section isn't for complaints about moderation or bans, there's a route for that quite clearly laid out in the Rules of Posting; before they even give you the rules you agreed to when you joined, when they were changed and agree to before every post; is more that you should actually get. You've been lucky, usually these threads are just locked.
