Polishing my knob!

Morning chaps, I've been upto know good again,
Recently I purchased a lovely original Tvr gearknob from a very nice Pistonheader,
Well it sat there on my kitchen table a few weeks and I decided to see if I could polish it up a bit,,,

And boy goes it feel good to touch,,,
In car,, yeah I know I need a stereo,,,
Outriggers first?
Up close you can still see some imperfections and tiny scratch marks but it's close,,,
Good old wet and dry and Solvol.
You might notice I've rounded the top off a tad, and left the actual numbers original,

Well I've got to do something,, the manifolds,, yes they are, quite surprised myself really,
I think I got them so smooth and solvol'd up the rust can't grip em ,, Even the pipe underneath still looks new.
I've been thinking of getting the ACT setup including g manifolds but that's maybe a step to far into vanity. Lol

Update, excuse me Peter, yes the Act pipes are for sale after all, mmm, not sure,,,, they are the right choice for a good air flow through the Y but they are a dark metal look?
I'm considering them simply for the better flow!
Off a 96 griff, problem is I'd have to replace both manifolds and Y for Mot! Pita!

Maybe try to undo the ring below the knob to release some pressure, wrap a heavy cloth around the knob and hit it with a wooden mallet or so, might crack to glue loose!
Glued on is not the way!
One more idea freeze a wet cloth then wrap it around the knob, might expand it enough to release it on the threads.

Funny, I must get down my mates garage and check out the chances, if so then I might be tempted.
The early Act set up including manifolds supposedly gives a 6% increase in Bhp allround.
Clive's supposed to be making up some more and if you can afford them then the equal length manifolds he produces must be the dream ticket.

I just had the main cat cut out and a conical reducer section welded in its place so that it doesn't sound like a tractor, I think it sounds amazing now and it was dead cheap

a mate did it for me, he works just behind me in Notts building race cars
I can ask him if you want, he did say it was a pain and took him a few hours so i'm guessing maybe £200 or so if I had to guess?
I really like it, doesn't sound like other ones i've heard and half the price of a stainless one, although the stainless ones are a work of art and look very nice

Been house keeping today, it's rather boring so decided to polish me knob some more,
You can probably hardly tell but most the tiny scratch marks are almost gone,,,, yes brake lever is being done too.
Also,,, I havnt done anything in engine bay for a couple of months at least,
See how the exhaust is still holding a shine,, tiny rust pits but nothing really 5 mins with,,,,,Solvol and it'll be gleaming again, she's been fired up a few times but there's even dust in there!!
I might change my PH ( handle ) name,,,,,,,

There again can you hear that,,,,,,,,yep the sound of silence,,, no nagging, it's a form of bliss in it's self.
