Lego Worlds is now available on Steam Early Access:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/332310/

What is it?

It's Minecraft, with Lego, that's what!

It's still in its early stages but you can import designs from Lego Digital Designer right into your game world (assuming the parts are in the game). It makes Minecraft look like poop.

Views on it so far? Better than Minecraft?

I understand it's still under development, but from the videos it looks like it's just limited to static structures (in which case I'd probably just stick with Minecraft for the time being). I'll be interested once you can create custom vehicles...

Think you may need a surprisingly gutsy GPU to get it looking good.

I downloaded it onto the AIO PC the kids use yesterday and it chugged along unfortunately. Will lower the res and effects to see if it's playable but otherwise they may have to wait until it's on the PS4 instead.

That is what I am waiting for, the only reason I don't really play Minecraft is because no vehicle creation!

Even my 6 year old found it boring. Got a refund (Thanks to steam's new refund policy!) - may buy it again in the future when it's fleshed out a bit.

I rode a bear!

They've got quite a bit of work to do but it has loads of potential to be great fun.

Graphics could be an issue though - my mid-range PC seemed to be struggling; and I wouldn't say it looked great. I'll need to spend some time fiddling with the settings.

Controls seem a bit hit and miss (keyboard) and I gave up on trying to build something of my own because I got frustrated with it. Some sort of dedicated out of game builder might be easier.

What sort of spec is it running well on?

Don't tell me my newly purchased 750 GTX is obsolete already... laughbangheadgrumpy

Perhaps they could call it Lego Digital Designer and make it available on their website?

So do (or will) the two programs interact?

If so that is a great idea - I found trying to build a simple wall in the game very hit and miss. I had trouble positioning things properly.

Yep, you can export LDD files and save them in a certain folder for Lego Worlds and it'll load them in the game. It's hit and miss at the moment because not all of the bricks are available in the game but hopefully this will be improved in the future.

In that case I'll be downloading LDD too smile

Just had another shot at it.

Highlight: rode a dog!

Low point: managed to trap myself inside a mountain I built.
