A wonderful gift

I took an old friend out for lunch today, and before leaving he gave me a carrier bag to put in the car. "Open it later" he said. So I am back home and rather speechless. Underneath you'll see but a part of what was in the bag which also included new wall-size servicing sheets, three of the 2.4 tuning manuals, three green ring binder servicing manuals from the Mk V onwards and so on. Everything, including the brochures, is in almost as-new condition. I am deeply touched.

Oh WOW, that is quite a gift. I'd never even heard of a Jaguar issued tuning guide. Original owners manuals are rare too, most of the ones you see one places like eBay are reprints, that's some great friend.

There were several tuning guides. What is special here is that while I already had a copy - and now have four! - is that inside is the typed list of the prices in 1955. Also, I have had for some years the 3.8 E-type one.





There are a few E-type ones here for under a tenner.

Thanks I'll have to look out a copy of the E-Type one. My XK150 now runs what is effectively a 4.2 engine.
