I have a palladium belt buckle and I have picked up a "cloudy" looking scuff mark. Can anyone recommend anything I can use to polish it out?

I have a Cape Cod cloth I use on my watches but I am not sure if this would do more damage then good so I haven't tried it yet.

Palladium is very much like platinum and in that i mean it is quite difficult to polish without a proper polishing machine and correct compounds. If you are working by hand i'd suggest cutting your time losses and dulling the whole thing down and applying a brushed finish. I hate palladium as it is quite an inferior metal. It was pushed as a recession metal as it is much cheaper than platinum but looks just as white. The big drawbacks are that it can't be rhodium plated to hide joints, it becomes brittle when working with it and it requires the same levels of heat to melt and solder that platinum does, except that it is crap to work on afterward.

Unless you want me or another workshop to polish it on a machine my suggestion is to apply a fine grade paper to it and rough it up evenly all over.
