The problem with the Veto is that it allows countries like, say, Greece to thoroughly abuse the EU, take the handouts and ignore the rules.
The current set of rules was designed for a small club but don't work now the EU has expanded so much. Hence the constitution bring a new set of rules that will work. Also they are less "socialist" than the old rules which has to be a good thing.

* The EU to decide on sentences for convicted criminals.
* The EU to determine what methods the Police could use to investigate crimes in the UK.
* The EU to increase even more the complex regulations that they already impose on UK businesses.
* The EU control over our Social Security system.
* The EU control over British foreign policy
* The EU to usurp Britains position on the UN security council.
* The government to pass more control to the EU without first having to seek parliamentary approval.
This is just the tip of a massive iceberg.
