OK, so I've read loads of threads on immobiliser and MIL light not coming on, however, everything works perfectly MIL light comes on - car starts - but MIL light stays on and high pitched buzzer stays on as well - any ideas very much appreciated - electrics are just not my thing, so hopefully this will be an easy fix. Oh I should say that I have just had the body off to repair chassis and when I disconnected the engine I simply undid the ECU connector and left it with the engine.

Cheers

Mike

Mike, Download the free software, get a laptop connected up to your ecu, and check the fault codes.

From there it could lead you to many things, lambdas, throttle pots, or simply dodgy connectors. Been trying to figure mine out for ages, but why when the sun comes out!!

There is an alternative diagnostic software for the MBE ECU which runs on more modern MS OSs.
It has been written by EvoOlli and is available here
