What is the law regarding having bonfires? A building company close to where I work has them quite regularly!

If you call your local environmental health team, they will be able to advise.

This is the guidance given by my local authority:

How many times do you consider to be quite regularly? From the guidance notes you would assume that for it to even register you would be looking at several times in 28 days.

It would also depend on what they were burning.

Commercial bonfires are covered under different legislation from domestic bonfires:

http://www.easthants.gov.uk/ehdc/formsfordownload....

"Subject to certain exemptions, it is offence to cause or permit the emission of dark smoke from commercial premises. "
