Any PH'ers playing Planetside2?
I just rebuilt my PC and I'm really getting into PS2, I just need a reliable squad now. Must be the best free game on PC, and its not pay to win.

There was a thread on this a while back, when it came out. I was playing quite a lot last year, up until our son was born. Fell out of it due to lack of free time but now he's approaching a year old we're finding we have a bit better free time in the evenings. I did enjoy PS2 so could be tempted back.

Played it on PS4, thought the graphics were sub-par and the gameplay was like a poor mans version of battlefield/call of duty.
Not sure what all the fuss was about, but it could be I was playing it wrong, if that's possible.
Back in the day of the original, it was noted for having far bigger battles than most (maybe even any?) other title on any platform at the time. It's still pretty big in that respect now, the maps are huge and the potential for hundreds of players in one map can make it exciting. It can also make it feel a bit sparse though, if folk are spread out a bit.Not sure what all the fuss was about, but it could be I was playing it wrong, if that's possible.
Played it a lot when it came out, there is something very fun with massive battles. We had a huge tank column rolling through the hills with air support and a load of APCs packed with guys. The other team had set up ambush points to slow us down as they massed an equally massive group of players.
The fight lasted pretty much the entire day!

That was my experience, I seemed to be running around constantly and not really seeing anyone.I lost interest after about an hour so chances are it was a poor example/server.
Yep I tried it for a while and didn't really get on with it. The learning curve is pretty steep for an FPS. I've been playing games for years and didn't know where I was or what I was meant to be doing half the time.
Also when is it actually coming out on the PS4? I keep hearing imminently but I seem to have been hearing that for the last 2 years!
