Hi Biker Guys,
Just a flying visit to pick yer brains really 'cos I've been well out of the loop on this subject.
What are the current restrictions with respect to the bike engine capacity on a full car licence.
When I was young and informed it was:
Provisional licence = moped and nothing bigger.
Full car licence = Up to 249 cc.
Then they brought in the 30 mph speed restrictors on mopeds and, if memory doesn't fail, full car licence = 125 cc.
Is this the case, or wot?
And lastly, what quads, if any, can you ride on the road over there, legally?
Cheers guys.

Edited 'cos I can't spell Spain in the topic line

How old are you and when did you pass your car test?

I think it depends on when you passed your car test as to wether you can ride a 50cc moped on your car license anymore.

You need to have done a CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) before you can get onto any bike over 50cc.

You'll need to have a full bike license to ride anything from 125cc upwards. If you're under the age of 19 you have to keep the bike restricted to 33bhp for two years (or until you're over 19).

As for quads, don't know, wouldn't ride one on the road over here.

Hi RF - Thanks for the reply. Okay, my physical age is... 44, FFS! However, luckily the age I act is CONsiderably less.

Let's see, I passed my car driving test in 82, maybe 83. Yes, they had invented the internal combustion engine then.

Yes, I'm with you on quads in the UK, but it's that I want to buy a toy or 2 to use at my home in Spain (hence the misspelled topic line), when I'm not working in Russia. Anyway, I'm just outside a small town, the roads are relatively quiet and I want something to buzz around on, go down the shops on and not have to get the beast out everytime just for that.
So, I was thinking maybe one of them scootery things, preferably 4 stroke, or maybe a quad, for grins.

Then again, in the more rural parts, off the beaten track the Spanish aren't exactly over policed.
But I would prefer to be the right side of legit.
