First post in this hidden gem of a forum, so apologies if it's one that gets asked every other week...

But... The Mrs has just reversed her shiny new car into a shopping trolley scuffing the bumper and scraping the paint. It's a black gloss so looks obvious.

The bumper/plastic is ok, just the paint is damaged, but it's deep.

My question is about repairing said "blemish"

Looking for any advice or guidance on how to go about this. I'm hoping the answer isn't a new bumper respray - rather that a patch job is feasible. Where to start though?

I've not had anything small like this to deal with, so welcome any ideas.

Location: Kent, Sevenoaks, in case there's an "expert" in the vicinity who can magic it away

Thanks in advance for any steers

Problem with black is losing the edge of the new clearcoat so it's absolutely completely totally even with big glasses invisible without going to the edges of the part being painted - and that can mean a complete bumper respray.

I'm thinking I'll get reverse sensors put in, which might provide a focal point to lose that edge against, maybe...? I doubt it would be perfect of course, but might help.

Given the size of the blemish, I can't resolve coughing up for a full-on respray.. rolleyes
