I Need a tag in my life
Discussion
I think you're either very new to watches, or trying to get a rise out of the likes of MG.
The majority of TAGs don't comparatively represent good value in a world of horology where nothing represents good value. They trade on "ooh, a TAG"ness without really providing comparable finish to competitors in the same price bracket. They don't even compare well with other brands owned by the same parent company.
I think you should decide if you want a TAG because it has a TAG badge on it, or if you want a decent watch. If the latter you should definitely look at other stuff. You may still chose a TAG and that's fine, but at least you're going in with your eyes open.

I think, if my radar is working today, that he is looking at 0% finance or ebay as a purchase option.
For purely cash loss reasons i'd go with somewhere like chron24 or at worst ebay. Tag watches are the biggest rip of the modern watch era. They look nice, but have zero substance vs the price tag.
Or, as has been said above, look elsewhere. Maybe look at a secondhand Tudor. That'll at least hold its value a bit!

Yeah, I'd guess at Goldsmiths 0% finance. I'd rather buy elsewhere, pay cash and negotiate a hefty discount. Has the added bonus of not being stuffed by Goldsmith's awful after sales "service".
Sorry to hear that you're back on the Chemo Eddie. Fight hard and yerself well again quickly.

It's worth noting this. If you're after a TAG specifically, then you can obtain between 25-30% off RRP via various trusted watch stores. For most pieces, that's quite a saving! However Goldsmiths will not provide such a discount on their 0% interest deal. In fact, it's probably best to obtain the model you desire at a discounted price, then throw it on a credit card with 0% interest over x months
Which model are you after?
However as others have said, go in with eyes wide open. Second hand eliminates depreciation. The depreciation on new TAGs is hideous. There are better quality/more reliable watches for the same cash, but if you really like a particular design, then I can understand why you'd choose TAG. Who doesn't like a good Monaco? Alternatively, who doesn't like a good Monza?! Especially 'El Primero' powered Monzas!

Same with Rolex. If you must have one, buy from European stores and save a packet. Or at least pay the same as what people are charging for secondhand in the UK.
Unit sure about monacos http://www.montredo.com/en/watches/monaco-calibre-...
