under dash button

Please have patience with me if this has been asked before. Have discovered an under dash button similar to the boot release one on the other side of the steering wheel

Any idea,s please?

Turns the instrument lights on/off.

The main one to check when all the lights stop working and you think it's broken, again.

if it doesn't do the dash lights it may of been changed into a manual override switch for the cooling fans

I did this, just removed and joined the illumination wires together with a short cable and 2 spade crimps.
