Centring rings for SE rims
Discussion
There are vibrations that mainly seem to come from the front axle of my 350i FHC. Had the wheels balanced recently by someone how knows his stuff but not much better. My SE rims do not have centring rings and this could be the root cause of this issue. I would like to give it a try using centring rings. Can anybody point me in the right direction as to dimensions and where to source them from. Cheers!
Do you mean spigot rings? If so, I had some made 3 or 4 years ago for a set of OZ split rims fitted to my SE. Strangely, I'd run them on the car for several years without the rings, and it was only when I came to sell them that I realised the bores were slightly larger than the mounting hub - from memory it was only a couple of milimetres. The 16 x 9 OZ rims I now use don't need them. I'll see what I can find.
Ok, found something. Mid 2011 I had a set made for my OZ rims, to fit my 400se. Dimensions were rings to fit 66.5mm wheel bore, and 63.5mm hub. Made from nylon, they were £20 a set. All I can find is an email address for the maker, so I'm not even sure he's still in business. CJ Tarry at gmail dot com.
