Is anyone here looking for the next big thing? An opportunity to make £100k in no time without actually doing anything?
I had the dubious pleasure of witnessing a presentation today on Goobets. Apparently only 60 people in the UK know about it but it's going to be huge, everyone makes money and obviously it's totally legit.
Now everyone here knows that the best opportunities are presented to potential investors in someone's back room in a semi in Glasgow. Better than that all the best presentations from the most reputable businesses have slides littered with typos and mistakes so frequent that they're basically incomprehensible. Extra credibility is offered by way of squint iPhone pictures of PC screens showing the earnings payouts, natch.
Sad thing was of the 6 people in the room 2 were onboard and 3 seemed pretty keen. I appeared to be the only objector, pointing out I hadn't understood any of it and have always been advised not to invest or get involved wth things I know nothing about. Nobody else understood it either, so complex was the commission structure and how money actually got made was hazy, other than a crack team of 'traders' in Portugal, who seemingly make so much money betting they need £900 off me. But they still seemed keen to hand over their hard earned.
Obvious questions not asked/answered
If they're so good why do they want my money?
Why can't they borrow from a bank? After all they promise 25% ROI a month.
Why did they feel the need to pre-empt the inevitable Google search with unbelievable claims about partners splitting and slander and almost beyond belief compare themselves to Richard Branson? (Apparently he has 200 lawsuits ongoing at any one time, so a ponzi/MLM start up with a load of bad press is the obvious comparison to a multi billionaire with multiple companies trading actual goods and services around the world for decades).
If they're making so much money why does the website read like pidgin English and why do they use a gmail account?
f
k me I'm still raging I wasted 45minutes on this pish. (I didn't know anything about it prior- I was picking something up and got bounced into it).
As you can tell I wasn't exactly impressed. And if anyone else is presented with the opportunity I'd strongly advise not to waste your time. Take your £900 to the casino, fire half on red and half on a w
e. More chance of making money and at least that way when you get f
ked you'll enjoy it.
Oh and by the way, Goobets was supposed to be GoBets but was mistranslated. Professional eh? How would you like the money?

"We maintain a cautious attitude that leads us to growth with self-critical and aware of our strengths and weaknesses."
"We maintain a long-term that drives us to seek innovative ways of competitiveness, optimized for essential resources such as creativity and meritocracy."
Someone swallowed a dictionary but couldn't afford a translator.
The thing has more holes than a job lot of colanders. I'm pissed that the guy I know thought I was stupid enough to throw a grand at him for it.
