Funny service Issue

My A4 went in for service , in the morn they said the extra cost for the pollen filter and fuel filter was x , I said as a lease car you can forget the pollen filter ( not sure why said yes to fuel filter ) who cares not my problem when it goes back.

Any way picked car up , scanned the invoice ,they charged for the pollen filter , oh they said we fitted it , I said put. The old one back and take the charge off , they took the charge off and left the filter , result or what hence sho uld have said no to the fuel filter to.

God £90 for 5 litres of Shell Helix 0-30 what a rip off , did mean to supply my own

The pollen filter is a required item for the service display reset believe it or not, i had a major ding dong with my dealer about it as i refused to pay them £38 for an item i can get for £11 from GSF and fit myself in 5 minutes flat, as a result they refused to reset the service display on my car. Tossers.

Likewise, although not a main dealer, a garage I tried out when moving to a new area wanted £35+ to change the pollen filter on my A3.

Considering it is £7 for a Bosch or Mann filter and a 5 minute job that doesn't involve getting dirty, I politely declined that part of the service.

I bet the filter is made by Mann ( I would guess that is Famm , not the truck manufacturer ) or,Bosch in any case , the difference will be the very expensive printing of,an Audi Logo on the box , so,either buy from a motor factors or,check to,see if,a Skoda, VW or Seat uses the same part at less cost.

Many years ago,I had VW Sharan, service items were far cheaper from either Ford or Seat. In the boxes for instance the wiper blades,were,Bosch but Ford Motorcraft box was 25% cheaper.

Unless of course you do really believe that Audi make all of their own parts !!!
