The Box goes over to Belgium on Tuesday for the sports exhaust.
Then onto Le Mans for a week, will let you know my thoughts on it when I get back.

Will a Carnewal knock your emissions up come MoT time?

No, they're just mufflers

My understanding is the Carnewal exhaust modification for the Boxster/Cayman includes removal of the secondary cats. Mine has sailed through 2 MoTs since fitting without any noticeable change in the emissions.

Took Gurt 70 mins to do the car, Needed new clamps and ss bolts as well.
Took about 200 miles for the car to bed in, Sounds good, could be a little louder for my liking but it feels to rev better through the rev range.

Worth it, Yes.

It's one of those things. Initially I thought it was too quiet. When you get used to it all-round though, you realise it's actually perfect. It can be barely louder than stock when pootling, then you get the flat six wail when pressing on. It's also fapping loud outside and I'm not sure I'd want to draw much more attention than that...

A lot of the loud systems emphasise the drone you get between 2-3000 rpm and can be horrible when pootling. Obv the solution is not to pootle, but it's nice to have the option when you're not in the mood.

Steve, what was the total cost to change including the couple of additional bits, if you don't mind me asking.

I discovered a much cheaper option to get that meaty roar. I floored it away from a toll booth near Rouen, trying to keep up with a La Ferrari, and popped the 3 exhaust flange bolts on the left side ! How the locals must have enjoyed that as we left Le Mans town centre at 11 pm after the drivers' parade!

The drone got a bit boring on Monday's 500 mile journey home though...

That's on an exchange basis though right?

Mine needed the bolts and clamps replacing too, I was really impressed by Gert's work. Genuine parts used, labour only 60 euros an hour.

I have been told my my supplying dealer that if I go the Carnewal route it will invalidate my warranty. As car is only 8 months old that concerns me. Test drove a 981 with PSE yesterday and was impressed compared to stock but best price fitted £2k.

Changing your wiper blades yourself invalidates Porsches warranty... It's pretty much a given that having your exhaust fettled is going to do the same.

I think it would only invalidate a claim that could be demonstated to have been caused by the modification. At least that's what I've been told by OPCs. They won't reject a claim for a gearbox problem because you swapped the exhaust pipes .

Has anyone actually had a warranty claim rejected due to a Carnewal modification? I'm looking at a car with an OPC warranty remaining, is a £2k PSE the only option if I want to maintain the warranty? Not bothered if it invalidates the warranty on the exhaust, but if the engine goes bang I want it.
