Well finally got round to fitting the hoses today I got from HEL Performance and what can I say......
Not happy madthe fronts are bit too long and there is no provision to fix them into the inner wing bracket, so they are just floating, plus on full lock they can touch the tyre. Has anybody else fitted these and been able to secure them or are the Russell ones the way to go, and can I buy just the fronts?
Plus the old hoses appeared to be bonded into the brackets but I managed to knock them through.
The rear hoses fit ok as they have the groove for the clip to slide in on the brackets.
Also the Gunson bleeder I bought don't fit onto the master cylinder so had to bleed old school but pedal still spongey at mo, need a second pair of feet.
Thanks in advance.

Can't remember if you have AP's or standard brakes on yours, I used the Russell kit from Monkfish when I fitted my AP's, almost 100% happy with the kit, comes with the correct brackets and fittings, only issue I had was the rear Banjo Unions don't locate with the Rear Caliper Castings/Bodies, so had to "Lock Wire" them to prevent rotation of the Unions.

Hope you find a solution.

You are welcome to pop over and use my Driveway and "Right Foot" if you're stuck for an assistant.

Thanks for the offer Nick, I think I'll be investing in a vacuum bleeder. Got the std brakes and yeah the banjo unions on the old hoses were rectangular and locate perfectly on the calipers whereas the new banjo's are round front and rear so don't lock in place, only secured by it's bolt??? Images of the Russell ones I've seen shows the front hose unions rectangular and do they come with the brackets? confused
Plus nice day for drive out and can't use car till sorted mad

The Russell kits come with the correct brackets and the front union's are rectangular as the standard lines are, as mentioned, just a very small issue at the rear, however that would not stop me buying the kit again.

Sounds like I need Russell front lines then, I don't think the rear lines would come loose as there is not really any hose movement unlike the fronts when on lock to lock?

Sadly only available as a set. But as above yes, they do come with the brackets.

That location device is only there to prevent rotation of the banjo as you tighten it up. Once tight it serves no useful function. Does mean a little bit of care when fitting to ensure that it is aligned correctly.

Yes that makes sense on the rears but because of the front caliper lock to lock movement as my new hoses have round banjo's I'm concerned they could come loose as they are not supported like the OE rectangular banjo, anybody had issues with the round banjo?

I just got my Russell ones whilst on a trip to the USA along with some other goodies. They will go on my ute and it will have a general brake overhaul. They look a good bit of kit. But on my Monaro I used a HEL set for my AP upgrade and all was fine.

How did you secure the HEL pipes to the inner wing bracket, and did the banjo union stay secured on the caliper?? ears

Update on hoses HEL are unable to supply a hose with the inner wing bracket and I can't have a hose flapping about
So gonna bite the bullet and order a set of Russell hoses, but car off road though till they come from U.S mad ordering for a Pontiac GTO so I guess it's essentially the same car and only £126 on Amazon. Will see if can return my HEL's for some kind of refund? Pain in the a...ole frown

Can't you reuse the old inner wing bracket, or tie the hose out of the way with a cable tie?

I have removed the old hoses from the brackets and fitted the new ones in but the hose has no groove in it, if it did I could fit a horseshoe clip, not happy about cable tying hoses on, just worried it will come loose yikes

I know what you mean. Before now, slit a rubber grommet, put it around the hose, and then cable tied it tight to the mounting point. You could always fit two, for peace of mind. I wouldn't want a pipe running in a loose cable tie.

I would always recommend the Russell kits as they are supplied as a kit with the correct brackets etc, good quality and good value for money in my opinion, however will stand by my little niggle with the rear unions, I am assuming Russell Performance in the States designed the kits, so my comments about the design of the kits in no way reflects upon the high standards kept at Monkfish. I would always recommend Monkfish as 1st port of call for any servicing or parts for these cars, I have always been more than satisfied when dealing with you guys.

Apologies if any offence taken.
