New Vanquish compared to the DBS
Discussion
Went from V12V to 2013 Vanquish and recently to the 2015 updated version. The new Vanquish is sublime, the new gearbox and extra damping makes it great fun to push in manual mode and you feel great at the same time as it is a thing of beauty. Not taking anything away from a DBS, as its a beautiful car also...................
The changes, or should I say, improvements are many. But what's important is that none of my views are meant to be derogitary about DBS. I loved mine, it's a fabulous car....... But time moves on. So:-
Gearbox. Probably the single most noticeable change. The eight speed unit changes much quicker, delivers better acceleration, top end and economy is improved.
The suspension set up has been revised, definitely feels more planted, especially at the rear of the car.
The power increase is noticeable.
The brakes don't squeak.
The exhaust note has clearly been tuned - it sounds more aggressive than DBS and doesn't leave you feeling that "fuse 22" needs to be pulled.
The new Bosch management system improvements find their way through to the driver. For example, it can be switched to always start in Sport as a default.
The interior is a much nicer place to be - the revised centre stack actually works really well and now that AM have sorted the issue of being able to close the screen manually, it always looks lovely.
The seats are more supportive.
The petrol release button is now on the door and is simple to use and releases the cap with a reassuring spring release.
The boot is bigger.
The sound system is much improved. Not just the quality of sound but ease of use and interaction with other devices.
So all in all it's typical Aston Martin fayre by running with evolution rather than revolution but what it does make for is an astonishing motor car.

As quick as your DBS with the mods, Greg?Gearbox. Probably the single most noticeable change. The eight speed unit changes much quicker, delivers better acceleration, top end and economy is improved.
