Odd aircraft flight NE England

Right now, Sunday night 1055. Been watching this on FR24 high level over Nirthern England out to the IoM then back across to Newcastle. 39000 ft then straight across the sea to Dennark but turns back.

Hawker Beechcraft 1000. No other info.

I'm guessing military.

Do the RAF still use them for training tact sub warfare or is that another plane?

I think they all got scrapped.

I found out on a sputters forum that it was probably being used to calibrate ATC radar.

Nice evening flight high up over northern England and the North Sea. I'd have happily made the coffee!

The RAF never operated the 1000 Series.

It operated Dominies (200 Series) in the Navigator and Airman Aircrew training role until Jan 2011 when WSO (Navigator) and WSOp (Air Electronics Operator) training ceased and the remaining fleet were pensioned off.

32(The Royal)Sqn operated 4x CC3 (700 Series) in the VIP transport and Light Communivations role until 31 March of this year when they were binned by 'Boy George'. The original CC1 (400 Series) and CC2 (600 Series) had long since gone by then.
