Interior Lights

I have had this problem ever since I got the car (993 C4), that is that the interior lights do not come on when the door is opened.

Both engine bay and storage lights come on and the buzzer sounds if the key is left in the ignition. I have removed both push pins in the doors and cleaned them but had no success.

Have now been told that it may be due to a faulty relay, thing is I have searched and cannot find it.

Can anybody tell me where it is or if that is not the problem how to get the lights to come on when the door is opened.
