996 Turbo Aerokit front splitter

I'm not the first person to manage to damage their splitter, but having seen the price for a replacement aerokit from Porsche I do wish I'd been more careful yesterday 
I've had a check through the search function on here and have seen various opinions re replacing with a normal splitter or not (and some hot debate whether people like the aerokit or not
)
The splitter has cracked from the one of the holes almost diagonally towards the outer edge. Does anyone know if you can have the splitter repaired either by a smart repair or some other way. This isn't really my preferred option, or at least wasn't until I saw how much a replacement is, but I am thinking of getting it repaired and kept in the garage as a spare.
I spotted the following copy on eBay, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/German-made-Porsche-996-... Has anyone bought one of these or similar? I am considering either buying it and fitting it "as is" or getting it sprayed (my car is seal grey, I'm not sure whether keeping the splitter black would look odd or not)
Thoughts and comments please including any alternative ideas you might have (I am also in two minds re putting a standard splitter on as there will be less of a chance of grounding when going up and down dropped kerbs)

1) "Normal" splitter just as groundable. Only difference you can tolerate a lot more damage (aesthetically) before it really needs replacing, as it's black so no colour to be removed. It's the C4S one which is more usable, but undoubtedly you will fly off the road at anything over 27mph and as usual some children will die in Africa, but T-cut will sort it out 
2) The splitters are repairable, I repaired mine at one of these bumper repair places, well anyone who does hot plastic welding can get it sorted. Obviously it (yours) will need spraying unless the crack is clean and the repair from the rear does not show at the front.
3) Alternatives - Just be aware that it is said (no firsthand) that at least some of the alternatives attach to the bumper via self tappers not the original method of attachment. May or may not bother you. May or may not be less secure than original method of attachment so grounding may or may not result in a more stressful situation.

Thanks, it was going up a drop curb that got me, I think the normal splitter protrudes out less hence maybe a better option. I've sent some pictures to a smart repair guy so fingers crossed. Does your car have the standard splitter or the aerobat? If the latter I can't even get a replica before paint close to this so please let me know where you got it!!!
Not standard - is the proper aerokit front splitter and was quoted that price from Tunbridge Porsche CentreDebbie Crawford
