Flared Arch Chim

This has just been posted in the Yorkshire "spotted" thread, looks like someone has been busy with the english wheel, should look fabulous when finished, anyone on here ?

I got my money on that being a stuck on arch moulding and a standard issue Arab chrome wrap

It was definitely metalwork (I took the pic), sheet aluminium that had been laid over the standard bodywork and riveted on in various places.

It looked really bizarre and I genuinely couldn't work out what their next step would be, I suspect liberal amounts of filler but I hope I'm wrong!

If you open the photo up and make it larger you can see the welding round the arch, and the rivets holding the panel to the fibreglass.

That doesn't look like just a Chim with flared arches to me , could be wrong but those front wings look suspiciously long and the wheels look to be 5 stud.
Im thinkining an extended and flared Chimaera body on something else of a chassis - identifying the car that runs these wheels would be a clue.

Mmmm, it's very interesting,, it must be a hard tale if that's it's ride height, no room for movement unless it's arches have been altered?

Those modern massive wheels look flipping good, the door seems smaller by the addition of all that bodywork and it suits if you ask me..

That's a really funkie car, proper monster engine and it's a bonkers thing.
Goodluck to whoever is re creating it, better than in a scrap yard.

My bet would be that the Chim body is stretched to fit a T-car chassis. This is one route that I'll be investigating when the time comes to start the Chimaera speedster project, too. That pic is quite inspirational I must say

Don't know a lot more but I reckon this is the stretched rolling chassis I saw under construction at RT Racing a few months ago? Chassis had literally been cut in half and about half a metre added along with some strengthening and I think some changes to the engine bay?

One of the guys was showing me around while my friend talked to another about some jobs to do on his car, this "thing" was at the bottom of the workshop along with a few other long term projects, not exactly hidden or secret but he wouldn't tell me much about it!
