Help with Identifying Race Car
Discussion
rallycross was right, quick google search reveals its a williams fw05/3, sold fairly recently by Taylor and Crawley. Info from their site
At the end of 1975 Canadian Businessman Walter Wolf bought the assets of the Hesketh formula 1 team, he also bought 60% of Frank Williams team and what, in 1975 had been the Hesketh 308C became the Williams Wolf FW05 for 1976, driven by Jacky Ickx, Michel Leclere and Arturo Merzario.
FW05/3 was ready for the French GP at Paul Ricard where it was driven by Ickx who also drove it in the British GP at Brands Hatch, Merzario then took over for the rest of the season. At the end of the year Jody Scheckter tried the car and was within a second of his team-mate Patrick Depailler in the Grand Prix winning Tyrrell P34, Scheckter commented that the Williams Wolf Team drivers just hadn’t been pressing the loud pedal hard enough.
Merzario was driving FW05/3 at the Nurburgring when Niki Lauda had his life threatening crash, Merzario helping to pull Lauda from the flames for which he was awarded a medal.
For 1977 FW05/3 was sold to Derek Cook for the British National Shellsport G8 Championship and then to John Cooper for the 1978 Aurora F1 Championship.
Then:
Malcolm Clube – 1982
John Foulston – 1984
Chris Ball – 1990
Valentine Lindsay – 1999
Richard Austin – 2003
Steve Hartley/David Abbott – 2009

Seems like he finished 8th in the championship in '78 with a best finish of 3rd at Oulton Park according to this site
