Console flight sims

Why is it that combat flight sim style games are out of flavour with developers for the likes of Xbox one? I used to love the old combat flight sim games on PC and most recently enjoyed Ace combat 6 but there is a gap in the market. Would love to see a new release Battle of Britain game with the skies of Europe mapped out!

War thunder on PS4 is just about the best WW2 flight sim out there. I play on PC but I'm sure it's good on ps4 too

I agree, I love flight sims and have been tempted to buy a pc just to play these. Wish they'd release ace combat onto the PS4 as there is a massive gap in the market.

War Thunder, didn't like it. Thought it was horrible.

Birds of Steel was excellent on the Xbox 360.

The issue is its a small market and 99% of console gamers A) don't want to fork out £100 on a good joystick and B) couldn't be arsed to sit and learn how to fly a plane.

Plus I am not so sure how well the next gen consoles would be able to run anything that demanding if you wanted realistic physics, flight models and ballistics on top of good looking graphics.
