Small soft wirebrush and wire wool...elbow grease. Then quicksilver corrosion guard. We use it on marine engines. Not a hard laquer it flakes off, not waxoyle and sticky and WD40 burn off style. I think it has another name in the aircraft world. Should on fron new...and some waxoyle on the underside !..That's the next job epoxy coat subframe and suspension...Not my favourite job

Looks very good OP, but it's not for me. I have enough trouble keeping on top off the outside and interior, let alone the engine bay.

Engine bays are working areas and therefore allowed to be dirty smile

There's an easier solution that I did, just buy new bits!

Looks very good btw.

I used this on my old Ducati to stop rust and tarnishing. It's heat resistant too so does not fully burn off. It's good stuff.

Don't quite believe it but after wanting a mint Monaro especially VXR and Red it might have to go in a few weeks a long with my Avon RIB. Been offered a really good overseas boat gig..part time to start with.
Anyone interested let me know it will have fresh MOT..etc...in no rush however.
