plugs/leads and what else,,,

Ok guys a simple one I'm gonna renew my plugs/leads distributor cap as they haven't been changed since I got the car, I am not a track days driver so I don't need overly expensive replacements, any suggestions for all of the above, I guess also should I replace other components that are relative to what I have written, thanks in advance,,,

rotor arm?
Ignition amplifier?
Starter solenoid?
100 amp fuse (under the car).

Just keep the old parts until you are 110% certain that the new ones are working properly.

Also, consider (resistive) Iridium 6 plugs rather than the standard 7s. I can get the part number if you are interested.

Thanks for your reply yea for sure a reference number would be of help I have trawled thru different sites than gave up and posted here, I guess its been a subject mentioned many times but the search within PH is no good,,,

As been suggested keep you old part's as if they are working fine why replace. Sometimes new parts have been know to fail almost immediately.

I am using the same rotar arm , distributor, plug leads and extenders for the last 7 years and l am doing 4000 miles a year mileage at least.

I find the car revs more freely and seems more responsive on them.

BTW, a good thrashing from time to time, up to the rev limit in every gear with a warm engine, is good for clearing the accumulated rubbish out of the engine and improving everything.
And give the car one too.....

Yea I know thats a good point new isnt always better, Im doing only 1200 miles max per year, one of the reasons for replacing is the colour to match the red coolant hoses, but also the plug leads do look tired,,,

Mine were also looking tired and since I have just bought the car could not determine how old there were.
So I bought these from fleabay and kept the old ones as reserve.
