Border Control
Discussion
I travelled on the eurotunnel weds morning, no problem whatsoever, we were due to meet up with the rest of our group on the French side as they took the Dover to Calais ferry. They weren't allowed on because of the queue and had to get a later boat. Seems to be because the ferry companies aren't asking for API before departure.
Couple of funny tales to tell re Boarder controls or how to do it.
Really good friend had just left Calais bound for a Swedish race event. He had forgotten to lock the trailer after the dock side check. There is a largish window in the front of the trailer through which he saw three darkish faces .Carried on for another 150 ish kilometers before stopping at Luxembourg for fuel, where fortunately a police van was doing speed checks.Only three immies but every little helps. They are on the lookout for English plates so anything larger than a car make sure it is well and truely locked!!

Wednesday morning 8:49 departure waved through by both UK and French passport control. API completed.
It seems entirely random then as at 0820 yesterday we had a swift uk passport check but no french check. Aside from the truck in front nearly taking out the height barrier, no other delays :-)Went through Eurotunnel 7.30 Thursday morning - no problems, no passport check. Only slight delay was some muppet trying to operate the automatic check-in. You do wonder how hard it can be.
Roadworks all the way down from Calais to Rouen with lanes coned off but no traffic and so no delays. Saw no Dibble but also Brits seemed to be keeping their speed down. Sailed through Rouen mid-morning going alongside railway yards. Now in Reveillon good trip so far.
