Cayenne Service History - Avoid?

I'm looking at a Cayeene diesel, first sold 30 November 2009.

It had the first service on 22 December 2010 at 18,000 miles and the second on 1 August 2012 at 42,500 miles.

It hasn't been serviced since and now has 64,000 miles.

It seems OK but it's overdue the third service by ten months.

Should I be concerned?

I don't think its a point of concern unless you are the seller. As it will bring down the value of the vehicle. These are very well built machines so it would be very unlucky if something major happens from not having a service. Either you could have the seller get a service as part of the sale, negotiate the price down more than the value of a service, or if you are still worried than get an inspection.

run away ! did u ask owner for reason for it ? has he had it serviced by local grease monkey who doesn't stamp service books ? not excuse for someone with relatively expensive vehicle not having vehicle serviced regularly

It's a diesel and has not had an oil change in 22,000 miles?

I'm very understanding and open minded but this would be something to warrant further investigation.

If so, is it a big deal?

Plenty of other cars out there, without rewarding a skinflint who probably purchased it in 2012 with fsh and not bothered to service it since and wants to off load and brag to his mates it didn't cost him a penny bar fuel over nearly three years, no thanks....seriously whatever the reason Run...

This is what Porsche say about oil and filter change:

"fixed, max. 10,000 miles
or max. one year"

Which is still generous, so going 22k miles without a change is quite "interesting".

You might have a big problem if you want to put any kind of warranty on it - or at least you will if you try and claim.

That is fking insane. I dont care what Porsche says, if you leave it that long, you deserve the consequences.

Oil change every 10k - 5w 30 mobil 1 ESP
Minor 20k - 2yrs
Major 40k - 4yrs

Also; check your Service Book - GT3 is 2yrs or 12k.......

If you are happy with overall condition argue the price down and get yourself a potential bargin, my be worth the risk if price is right.

The same engine in a Touareg is on 2 year/20K service intervals.

I wouldn't worry too much TBH, just use it as a good bargaining tool.
