2002 Passat electrical gremlins

2002 Passat w8 auto

windows, fuel cap, remote locking and windscreen washers stopped working.

The CCM was wet, cleaned it out and no rust but still didnt work. Changed CCM and checked all fuses but still nothing.

Mobile electrician out yesterday and he couldnt find a fault.

any ideas?

Hi not too sure about yours but my 2001 passat started doing funny electrical things, interior lights coming on their own, stuff not working then worked again ETC ETC drove me mad, then one day I was looking under the glove box for something with my elbow on the DRY carpet when suddenly my elbow got wet, pulled up the carpet to find 1/2" of water that was covering various control boxes and wiring that had turned quite green,turned out to be the aircon drain not draining outside but under the carpet, must have been 2-3 ltrs under the carpet & sound deadening, apparently blocked sunroof drains can do the same on some cars.

Have you had the pollen filter housing resealed? That is usually the cause of the water ingress. The CCM may not be the only component affected by the water. Have you checked each connector on the coupling point on the NS A pillar? There are approximately 8 main harness connectors that can oxidise and crust up. Worth a look in that area.
