Formula Ferguson Triumph 2.5pi estate
Discussion
I had heard about this car before, but never seen photos. Wow, what an estimate at about 30,000 GBP!

I was an apprentice at GKN Hardy Spicer in the 70`s and found myself in the works prototype garage.
Apart from the 3 litre 4x4 Capris we had, there was also a 4x4 Triumph Stag, and a Stag engined 4x4 Triumph estate.
The Stag was still around the Lichfield area 10 years ago, but we had to cut the Capri`s up as they had been so badly abused by the press that they were just plain dangerous to drive !

Hi Guys has anybody got any pics or drawings of how the front wheels were driven ?
Also as a side note I built a 4 wheel drive Scalextric Ferguson F1 car using 2 motors back to back, no steering, when I was about 13 years old, this was scratch built, can't remember where the body came from, but used lots of Airfix car bodies to build my own scalextric cars

It looks like it has a transfer case on the back of the transmission which directed drive forwards via a secondary prop shaft alongside the engine to a front differential. The transfer case was chain driven, at least on this early C-V8 FF

There were also the 69/70 428 Cobra Jet Mustangs with FF conversion.
There was at least one 66/68 notchback FF Mustang built as well - was even tested by a UK motor magazine (have a copy of it somewhere)There were also some FF Zodiac V6 estates built as well for a UK Police trial IIRC (which may have been the reason behind the 2.5Pi conversions as well?)
