Just collected my R32 (the Datsun variety)
Discussion
Relative newbie, bit of a lurker but I've just collected my freshly imported 92' Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R on Tuesday from the guys down at Torque-GT and decided to post up some pictures of it.

Long story short, I absolutely adore it!
Torque-GT have been an absolute pleasure to deal with throughout and I was pleasantly surprised to find the car fitted with four new tyres upon collection along with some pre-planned preparation work such as undersealing, alarm installation and 12 months MOT (which it gladly passed without any advisories).
As I arrived at their premises after a four hour journey down to see the car for the first time I saw it parked outside their office and instantly had to fight back the urge to get starry-eyed. A quick tour round their other stock and then straight into viewing the R32. First impressions, WOW this car is in phenomenally clean condition (and I'm a fussy sod at the best of times). Jumped inside and got the driving position set up just right, something I was nervous about as I had never sat in one until then. Next up a test drive with Darren from TGT driving (at my request), jumped in the passenger seat and opened the glove box to be met with an array of gauges which was a surprise. We got out onto the carriageway and the car felt great, if a little sluggish however, I was sold.
Paperwork done, small issue with a faulty battery resulting in a brand new battery being fitted FOC and we were good to take some pictures and set off home.
The drive home was great, I really fell in love with the car. The handling, the noise, the typically 90's interior, the size and the driving position just all add up to make it the best car I've driven. Make no mistake it rattles, knocks, bangs, squeals and squeaks with various track focused mods such as a roll bar, suspected track pads and uprated differentials but oh my, when it all comes together in such harmony it's a wonderful machine. I wont bore you with the full spec (as I don't know it all myself) but it certainly seems to have been set up for track use in Japan.
Anyway back to the sluggishness, first thing I did when I arrived home was to remove the exhaust bung to hear the true sound of that famed straight six engine and went for a little drive. I was over the moon to feel that the car no longer felt sluggish, it spooled up quicker and felt like it had gained 40bhp just from removing that bung. It must of been very restrictive. The power is probably still only 300-350bhp I guess at 0.8 bar but it is more than enough for now.
That takes me to today as I haven't had chance to take it for another drive yet. Next up will be a trip to a specialist on Saturday for a full inspection of the car to identify the full spec and see what I need to budget for future maintenance

Thanks for all the comments. I'll aim to keep this thread up to date with my future plans for the car which mainly consist of maintaining it and enjoying it!

Not sure I've wanted a car in readers rides more since Ben's E12 M535i got sold! My favourite colour and with the standard wheels, looks a peach! Enjoy it
Cheers, the standard wheels actually suit the car perfectly in my eyes. There are some nice aftermarket options but it would be a shame as these are in excellent condition and have four new tyres.

Looks lovely. Lots of factory Nismo bits by the look of it.
Is it running spacers? The wheels look quite far out into the arches.
Well spotted, lots of Nismo bits and pieces. As subtle as they are it's enough to set it apart from a completely stock example. I have no plans to change the exterior at all. It is indeed running spacers all round, I was unsure at first but the spacers stop the wheels getting lost in the arches and it drives well with them fitted. Providing they're of decent quality, which they seem to be, they'll be staying Is it running spacers? The wheels look quite far out into the arches.

Absolutely exquisite. One of my dream cars along with its younger brother the R34 and the Supra. I must at least drive one of these in years to come!
I actually owned a Supra prior to owning this but they're very different cars. I would certainly recommend at least driving one like you say. It's a shame there aren't any track experience days (that I'm aware of) where you could go and drive some of the older Japanese, dare I say, "classics". There really is something about the R32 that I adore, I am just not sure what it is, proprtions, purposefulness, lack of bling or whatever, it just looks right, especially in dark colours on the original wheels, too many get messed with. The R33 was ok but it lost whatever these had to some extent, R34 is great but a bit over the top and the R35 seems to have gone in a different direction style wise, but it is the R32 that looks the best, to my eyes anyway.
