I've got my fussy parents coming over on Sunday. If it was my choice I'd be cooking a rib roast, but my father is fussy with fat so I'm thinking of roast sirloin. Should I go low and slow like with the rib? Then rest, fire up the oven to the max while resting then throw it back in for 10-15 mins?

Will the sirloin lack flavour? If it's going to be crap any suggestions?

If I were you, I'd just do a rib roast and cut the fat off the pieces you put on his plate. Rib is the tastiest cut by far, IMO.

I've been liking my rolled rump of late cook it following the Hawksmoore recipe and it's rare and moist at a reasonable price and nice and easy to carve.
