Has anyone else come across this before?

about halfway down on the site there is an expired link to drive the car at Malloey

Just called to see if the offer was still going about driving their Super Trofeo and apparently its going to be at Rockingham on the 17th June all day

£200 to drive an actual current Gallardo Race car and apparently only need a UK licence

Looks like 5 laps for £200, not cheap by any means but would be a good experience (depending what the instructor is like).

It could be one of those where you're limited to 5000rpm, 1/2 throttle, and only 3 gears?

Or it could be superb?

Only one way to find out!

Could just be a wealthy person wanting to go racing but wants it to come out of his successful company profits so sets up a company offering drives in his cars. Ultimately he doesn't care if it makes money because it's still cheaper than paying for it all out of his net-of-tax-wages.

Happens a *lot* in this industry. One of the reasons why it's a notoriously difficult industry to make genuine money - because there's lots of people running business which don't need to make a profit in order to be "viable" and/or worthwhile for the owners.

Regardless of why he's doing it - £200 for *any* amount of track time in a car of that ilk is a bargain.

Brave to offer considering everything on the car - engine, gearbox, diff, drive shafts - is lifed.

I know the owner of this car, and it is a real nice car, he races it and has a fantastic collection of cars, he's not doing it for the money I can tell you!
They use two very good friends of mine as instructors and they do let you use the revs. It'll be well worth the £200, chance of a life time.

I think I'm going to do this - too good an opportunity to miss. A car like this would cost north of £2000 per day to rent.
