Hi im woundering if anyone can help me

I have an 6,0 ls2 monaro supercharged
the car is not used much and has only got 1600miles on the clock
When driving along the car loses power then after a second of so will cull out completely,
sometimes it will take several minuets to re start
i have several diagnostic equipment but being a monaro it seems hard to find anything to get into the system
i have managed to get in using auto boss and i went in under gm and managed to get a code of p2119 witch i believe is a throttle problem, i have had the throttle body off and cleaned but still this keeps happening, if i clear the error it seems ok for a longer period of time has anyone experienced this before or have any help

A few have had similar problems, and quite often it seems to be after a car has been laid up for a long period.

From what I remember, none have cured the problem without fitting a new throttle body - but I'd certainly wait for some of them to pipe up, before committing to that sort of expense.

Good luck. smile

I was thinking of trying to put it throw my ulteasonic cleaner
But wondering if there may be a repair or a reason for this

Or am I barking up the wrong tree with the code

Nothing to lose. smile

This thread may give you a sense of Deja Vu. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=122...

Throwyourbike, in NI reported similar problems to you, soon after he got his car. I can't find the thread where he changed it, but the TB fixed it finally.

Thanks for the link
Seems like there has been a few problems with the t bodies
May have to try and source a new one and hope the code is not misleading
Seams strange that after the code has been cleared it seams to take longer for the problem to occur

yes There are also some cheap throttle bodies from China around so be aware, if you're offered a 'cheap' one. Not sure if they work or not, but sometimes things are cheap for a reason.

As it's not worn out as it's only do e very low mileage
I may give fish a ring see what there suggestion is

I agree that mechanically it should be fine, but there's no repair kits for them. The TB is the smallest part that you're supposed to be able to replace - though I'd keep hold of the old one, and see if you can find out the problem and repair. smile

ARAF is right, two or three days after picking my car up it went into limp mode. I didn't worry too much about it as the car had been sitting unused in a garage for the best part of a year before I got it, so I thought it might just need to be driven. However it happened another couple of times over the next few weeks so I took it to my local Vauxhall garage who read the codes and said they related to the throttle position sensor but it was more than likely just some gremlins from having sat unused and sent me on my way.
Finally, I went out one morning to go to work and it wouldn't turn over at all, didn't even make an attempt.

Video here.... http://youtu.be/UH16pM7tDHU

After a few days of trying it eventually fired up but went into limp mode almost immediately.

I took it to Michael White at OMA Tuning who diagnosed it as a faulty throttle body. This was replaced and the car has been fine since.

Hope this helps.

I have a TB sitting around somewhere if you want to try it to see if that's the problem.
It's been off the car a few years though.
