Am I being taken for a ride?
Discussion
Have been awaiting my mortgage offer from Natwest for a fortnight now - all my info has been provided, the property valuation has been completed with no issues yet my IFA isn't getting adequate responses to her chasing emails.
Today they blamed a systems error, but I'm REALLY fed up with the stress of this hanging over my head.
Being as we've dealt through an IFA, I'm assuming I'll get nowhere if I contact Natwest myself?
...or am I just being impatient? Last mortgage I got was about 7 years ago and then it was a piece of cake (thanks, Northern Rock!), I guess it was a very different landscape back then!

Very different.
I'm a mortgage broker and we place a lot of business with Natwest. I can tell you that they are extremely stretched at the moment. If you ring their number (which is the number your IFA will use too) of 03459 00 11 10 it will tell you to expect to wait at LEAST 30 minutes till they answer. They are currently taking 5 WORKING days to assess anything sent to them, not including the day it's sent to them. So anything sent on a Monday won't actually get assessed until Tuesday of the week after................................
You just need to relax a little bit..........we have seven applications with Natwest at the moment and it's the same with all of them.......this is the exact reason why lenders withdraw their products and increase their rates, to take themselves out of the firing line for a few weeks...
