Aston at Le Mans
Discussion
Just watching the Aston V8 Vantages (currently leading in their class) at Le Mans.
I was wondering why they don't race the DB9 at Le Mans......but then realised it would very painful to drive in your slippers for 24 hours.
And also the pipe smoke would obscure the night time vision.
Anyways "Good Luck" to ALL the Astons at Le Mans 2015

Am sure you are enjoying the event.
The lengthy safety car period has just ended, but car 35 Nissan has now spun off. Yellow flags.
There is continuous coverage on the German Eurosport TV.
Aston Martin 98 still holds the GTE Am class lead, but in GTE Pro, Corvette 64 is now ahead of Aston Martin 99.
Aston Martin 97 Darren Turner, has just come to a halt, part way round the circuit.

That was disappointing the leat Aston Martin going off

Leading the GTE Am class by 2 laps.
About 23 hours completed, so just one hour to go.
Approaching a very familiar chicane.
No other cars nearby.

Hi,
I was there this weekend with AMR.
Spoke to some of the drivers, and I have to say I was really impressed with #98.
They would have come in 3rd in the Pro class if they hadnt crashed... Just to show how well they were doing.
The rumor I heard was something with the steering....last year he also had an issue/accident with the steering column. Havent been able to confirm, I heard this via one of his friends that were there as well with aston martin racing.
Here a little video I made above the pit:

That's funny - I thought the v8 vantage was the entry level Aston for little boys who couldn't handle a V12 I was wondering why they don't race the DB9 at Le Mans......but then realised it would very painful to drive in your slippers for 24 hours.

Great video, thank you.
A steering fault could be one explanation, because there did not appear to be a sign of making any attempt at the required turn to the right.
Last year as well you say. Worrying. I have only just got up to date with my recalls. I certainly won't delay, if steering needs attention.
