Leaving a company - training
Discussion
I'm due to leave my current company in 2 weeks. I went on some training last November which had an exam to pass the course. I ended up failing the exam. I didn't sign a training agreement to say that if I went on this training course I would agree to pay back X amount if I left in X amount of time. The company are saying that I owe them 75% of training course but I just want to check that they can do this or not as I didn't sign anything. I'm in two minds to question it as if I didn't sign it but because I failed it can they force me to pay back the full amount in which case I might as well keep quite and let them take 75% of it.
Anyone know of any law or had a similar experience?

Just send an email in the first instance to whoever dealing with it, HR perhaps, saying that ,whilst you appreciate the opportunity for training, you didn't sign any clawback agreements so you don't feel like any amount is due for this. If they feel like they are contractually entitled to this training clawback, ask them to show you where in writing you agreed to this?
