Out yesterday and I believe the power steering went as the steering suddenly went heavy whilst going round the roundabout jnt 13 m25 . The level on the fluid looks ok , colour looks a little murky although I'm not sure how red it should be, I tried turning full lock left right to bleed the system a bit but no change, so on a speed six, I'm going to assume its the pump , where is it ? In front of the wheel or is that just the container for the fluid ?
Any help please as I'm supposed to be out in it on Saturday with the kids. Not sure about driving it with no power steering with the kids in , although I did drive it home yesterday which was an hour drive , I just have bigger arm muscles now !!

I think it sits under the cover in front of the engine.

Check for power at the pump with ignition on, if ok suspect the pump. If not OK check fuses before anything else, oh and see if the relay is clicking in when you turn the ignition on.

Thanks
Just spoke to Taylor tvr , my local, who are fully booked untill august , eekk , they said the pump should sit next to the engine under the air box , it could be the belt gone , and it's a bh to replace . DIY here we go !

Before you do anything else carefully check the UJ in the steering column. Mine did exactly this and it was a seized UJ.

You dont have to check forr power unless you have the aftermarket electric pump. If yours is original you just want to see if the engine driven pump pulley on the back of the pump (front lower left of the engine) is going around.

Thank for all the advise , just taken the airbox off and straight away could see the culprit, the pulley had come off the pump. There's probably only half of it left now, the rest has worn away , but , I did manage to get it back on, I pulled it round as much as I could which was only under half way due to the tension then started the car and it dragged itself back on ! Genius! It obviously won't last long but hopefully just long enough to get me through my cerbera meet on Saturday !

Sorry, I thought all the Speed 6 cars were electric pumps.
