Mirror adj blows fuse

Hello
Every time I adjust the passenger door mirror the supply fuse pops, its also the fuse that powers all the dash instruments and boot release!
Got the all the door striped on the driver’s side and it’s a multi plug on to the mirror adjustment switch.

I suspect the problem in one of three areas.

Where the wiring passes from the car to the door, but without removing all the black covering its going to be difficult to inspect any wiring? I can measure the resistance down to earth and move bunch of wires and see if there is any change……….. Any other ideas without ripping the wiring to bits?

The other thought is a stiff mirror mechanism?

Has anyone else had these problems and what did you find?

I would disconnect the load in the other door first and then test to see if the fuse holds.
The connections may be accessable through the speaker hole.
