Never had a problem in last 4 1/2 years of ownership but have just started to notice that my alarm is occasionally going off. Don't always hear it but on returning to car you get the 3 horn chirps to tell you alarm has been triggered.

Is there any way to tell what has caused the alarm to trigger ie. boot, bonnet, door, ultrasonics (not even sure if there is an internal sensor) ?

Couldn't see any obvious door switches either - where are they located ? Haven't looked for bonnet or boot ones yet.

Battery (Bosch Silver) is less than 2 years old & not (AFAIK) showing signs of failure.

Any pointers would be appreciated thanks

Matt

It should tell you what triggered it on the dash.

The usual cause for this is the sensor in the bonnet catch. It's a 20-30min job to replace it, it can be done without removing the bumper. Though some guys on here have had luck with removing & cleaning to old one.

You can get them from the US for $30.

It was bonnet for me but the car never told me, or chirped. You can just disconnect the sensor wiring that connects to the latch if you're not bothered about bonnet intruders....
