Same old story, 11k cheaper and nearly 100hp and lb/ft down, I wonder which is faster:

I'd still have the Merc. A better road car I suspect and quite a sleeper by today's standards.

30 second HD advert in front of the video with no skip option when I'm on 4G. Thanks YouTube.

If I want to burn my data up on videos it's not going to be watching fking adverts.

"sleeper" lol - Like most AMG's it's a bling-fest. The days of Mercs being in anyway Q cars or tasteful appear to be sadly long gone frown

As I said, by today's standards that could easily be a C220Cdi. Definitely more subtle than the previous generation.

I agree Patrick. It looks very dull like a 2 litre diesel.

That would be great if the new C class was a good looking car, look how the rear disappears to nothing, flat and featureless to me.

This is a good thing though right? In the same way my M5 looks just like a 520d?

Park next to one there is a difference, some flaring to the arches/bodywork for a start + the F10 is a nice looking car to start with.

I think the point being when on the move the M5 doesn't really stand out & that (for me) is a great thing & why i've always preferred these German Uber Barges. That said, my previous F10 M5 in Singapore Grey was too blend in which was why it's replacement was ordered in a slightly more recognisable 'M' colour.

Not sure if this will change as personally i think the new M3/4 is more shouty from it's predecessors & i think Audi/Merc have gone the same way their AMG/RS models, so perhaps the next M5 will display greater visual differences from the range. I recall the E60 M5 was even more subdued visually so it's possibly the direction BMW M are going.

I guess my point is that the M5 does look meatier than a 520d, when you see another one the road the width/stance standout it looks typically M with that slightly canted forward stance hunkered down over it's wheels, of course your mother wouldn't notice but those that know, know. The F10 M5 is the most aggressive looking M5 there has been.

Many people commented that the e92 M3 wasn't as aggressive as the e46 (I've owned 3 across them) and that the F80M3/4 is a return to form looks wise, remember the e30 M3 with its blistered wheel arches?

Apart from the Black series most AMG cars have zero flare to the rear wings and they have continued this with the new C63, for me the fact that it's based on a pretty dull jelly mould design only adds to the issue.
