Hi all

Newbie on the watch forum but looking for some suggestions. I bought a Breitling SuperOcean when I was working offshore. I've got 2 sons and whilst I'm hoping it's not for some time, I would like another nice watch so that when the time comes they can both have one. Until that time I probably don't want two watches that are too similar. I'm thinking of something up to £2k and was thinking about a Monaco. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

You can get used Omega Seamaster ceramic for around your budget. Lovely watch.

....whilst working offshore...., well there's only one real choice then, but of course I might be a bit biased.

How about one of these, easy to find below £2k on the pre-owned market. Also adds a bit of colour and I like the fact I never see anyone else wearing one

What about something more formal like Nomos or Stowa?

Lovely, is that a sapphire or ceramic bezel?

Thank you and glad PJ S responded as I've no idea about the bezel

if the superocean is on a metal bracelet, and given that Breitlings are quite showy, then you want a dress watch of some kind... something elegant and minimal on leather. Junghans maybe?

keep it in the family and go for a Superocean Heritage on Mesh. I bit more classy and understated than the full blown Superocean

Other colours are available

I tried one of those on recently and the mesh was too much for me. Looked a bit cheapo. Looked awesome on rubber though. Which ironically was probably a lot cheaper.

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys - and there's some really good ones.

This is the same as my SuperOcean

Taking on board the suggestion of another Breitling I'd quite like Transocean or something similar - the Nomos above caught my eye.

Probably best to look at used, but...

Omega Speedmaster?

Breitling Navitimer? Or maybe a Digi-Ana Breitling like the Aerospace or a B-1?

Nothing wrong, in my view, with your suggestion of a Monaco (just don't buy a Gulf logo'd one... frown )

Sinn make some cracking watches for the money.
